A new company name that is a Superstar in the making!

The last time I wrote I was thinking of a company name and also what that company was going to be doing!

I thought about everything I am good at and what experience and expertise I have gained over the past 22 years of working, then I said to a friend of mine that I was thinking of a virtual PA business. That was that as we both thought it was a great idea and so I researched the world of Virtual PA's lots more. In fact I spent hours and hours trawling through websites to see what competition was out there, the more I looked the more I liked the idea even more and knew it was a service I could provide and put my all into it.

So a name had to come next, Superstar PA was a name that was suggested, at first I thought that name is bound to not be available on the domain names but it was and that was that! So we now have a website called, I am so proud of it as it has taken the web designer and myself a lot of time making sure it is right! I am quite sure I have been their most difficult customer but hey it has been very worthwhile as the end result looks very professional and portrays just the right kind of image for the business.

So now I am working on a marketing and advertising plan, in the meantime go check out our new site at: and let us know what you think.

A new start

OK - so heres what happened......

I worked for a large American Investment Bank in Canary Wharf for six years and before that have worked in other large blue chip companies for a total of 22 years! Wow thats a long time and boy did I spend a lot of time commuting in those years.

Then the credit crunch hit and it hit the Investment Banks pretty hard, time to get my thinking cap on whilst I had a job so that I could be a little bit prepared for the inevitable. I thought about so many new ventures I could do and with my many years of experience surely there was something I was good at!!

Then it happened on Wednesday 21st January - a day that will stay with me for a long time! A re-structure was on the cards for our whole team and we were asked if we wanted to apply to jobs in that new structure. My first thought was hooray this nightmare is finally over and I can spend more quality time at home and with my daughter, then reality sets in and you think OMG I do not have a job anymore!!

After some deep thinking I decided to take the voluntary option and I know now, nearly two weeks later, that it was the best decision I have made for many years! Free at last to do what I want and to finally work for myself and on my terms.

Watch this space for my next update, a new business needs a new name so time to go find it!!
